about this work

David Ostrowski has created the special c-type print F (I think you may have something here) (2014) to accompany the Beware Wet Paint group show of individual paintings by artists for whom painting forms a single strand within a multidisciplinary practice. Beware Wet Paint at ICA in London featured Korakrit Arunanondchai, Isabelle Cornaro, Jeff Elrod, Nikolas Gambaroff, Parker Ito, David Ostrowski, Pamela Rosenkranz, Ned Vena and Christopher Wool.

about David Ostrowski

In his paintings, David Ostrowski consistently strives to undermine composition, style and typical gestures, experiments with speed and imperfection. Furthermore, errors are integrated in his predomintant white, minimalist canvases during the process of pictorial composition. As such, errors and coincidences are played off against each other while Ostrowski deletes, overwrites, layers and makes decisions.

David Ostrowski has had numerous solo exhibitions, including shows at ARKEN Museum, Copenhagen; Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin; and Kunstraum Innsbruck, Innsbruck. His work has been shown in several group exhibitions at venues such as Kölnischer Kunstverein, Cologne; Autocenter, Berlin; and NAK, Aachen.
