The artist Philip Aguirre y Otegui uses the etchings to explore the distinctive formal vocabulary of his wider oeuvre, with direct references to his sculpture and to large-scale architectural pieces like <em>Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Source<\/em> in Cameroon. The series opens with abstract, almost surrealist forms. Bit by bit, though, we recognise elements from the real world, with the final etching actually containing several human figures.
