about this work

Nose (a collaboration with Martin Ebner) (2008) was inspired by the work of renowned British op-art artist Bridget Riley, whose style is here unexpectedly appropriated to depict a nose.

Nose (a collaboration with Martin Ebner) was published on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of ICA, London, as part of special print portfolio including Carol Bove, Peter Coffin, Ryan Gander, Judith Hopf, Rosalind Nashashibi and Tomás Saraceno.

about Judith Hopf

Judith Hopf has worked in a wide range of media that includes the production of objects and installations, alongside graphic works, performances and film works, offering an absurdist and utopian exploration of artistic forms. Characterised by a playfulness that veers between the acting out of everyday social roles and the choreography of fantastical impulses, her topics range from love to politics and are often developed in cooperation with other artists or friends.

Judith Hopf has had numerous solo exhibitions, including shows at Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt am Main; Grazer Kunstverein, Graz; and Portikus, Frankfurt am Main. Her work has been shown in several group exhibitions at venues such as Tate Modern, London; MCA, Chicago; Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; and Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Basel. She also participated at the Liverpool Biennial in 2014 and her work was included in dOCUMENTA 13, Kassel in 2012.
