Meet me in the bedroom
Art history is filled with artworks that are intended to evoke erotic arousal, refer to scenes of love-making, or play with anatomical references. Contemporary art is no different – so these works might be more suited for your bedroom than your kitchen.
What better image to accompany this collection with than one from Dorothy Iannone’s famous (Ta)Rok Pack. This series of 27 cards her life with Dieter Roth, her beloved and muse, in the early period of their relationship – in 1968-69. (Ta)Rot Pack has virtually no relation to the original Tarot cards, but each card brings something. That something is the consequence of the activity which is visually presented. For instance, Dieter Roth and Dorothy Iannone joined in a complete embrace “Brings What Everyone Wants”, Dieter Roth cooking brings “Innocence”, Dieter Roth embracing his children brings “Warmth”, “Reverence” depicts Dieter Roth engaged in cunnilingus. This card “Pacifies”.
