Charlotte Moth

°1978, Carshalton (UK) – lives and works in Paris (FR)

Charlotte Moth is a discoverer of the particular within the familiar. Her artistic oeuvre, consisting of photographs, videos, slide projections or three-dimensional arrangements, transforms everyday objects and architecture into new forms and compositions, often cloaked in a mantle of secrecy. Among other things, she investigates the specifics of geometry by tracing it on her travels, tracking it in architecture or ordinary arrangements. Moth does not construct new geometry-inspired structures, but instead gathers geometric forms where she finds them in everyday life.

Over the past years, Charlotte Moth has had numerous solo exhibitions, including shows at ICA, London; Fondation Serralves, Porto; and IMMA, Dublin. Her work has been shown in several group exhibitions at venues such as Kunsthalle Basel; Royal Academy, London; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; and Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna. Her work is also represented in many important public collections, such as Serralves Foundation, Porto; FMAC, Paris; and FRAC Pays de la Loire, Carquefou.
