Jochen Lempert

Jochen Lempert compiles images covering a broad spectrum, from everyday views to images of structures that tend towards complete abstraction. With a restless capacity for observation, research, and artistic perception, Lempert´s encyclopaedic work, questions the way we perceive our environment, evoking a respectful attitude towards what is portrayed.

Jochen Lempert has had numerous solo exhibitions, including shows at Museum Ludwig, Cologne; Contemporary Art Museum, St. Louis; and Sprengel Museum, Hannover. His work has been shown in several group exhibitions at venues such as the Heidelberger Kunstverein, Heidelberg; Martin-Gropius-Bau, Berlin; and Museum Ludwig, Cologne. He also participated at the Paris Triennial La Force de l’Art (curated by Okwui Enwezor) in 2012.

His work is part of many important international collections, including Museum Ludwig, Cologne; Kunstmuseum Bonn; and Museum Huis voor Fotografie Marseille, Amsterdam.
