Dor Guez

°1983, Jerusalem (IL) – lives and works in Jaffa (IL)

Israeli artist Dor Guez is photographer, video artist, scholar and founder of the Christian Palestinian Archive (CPA). As an artist of Christian Palestinian and Jewish Tunisian descent, Guez is considered a leading and critical voice from the Middle East whose practice questions contemporary art’s role in narrating unwritten histories. As such, his work relates directly to his artistic strategy of repetition and storytelling in re-evaluating accounts of the past.

Dor Guez's work has been the subject of over 20 solo exhibitions, including shows at the KW, Berlin; The Rose Art Museum in Boston; Tel Aviv Museum of Art; and the Jewish Museum, New York.

His work has been shown in several group exhibitions at venues such as Palais de Tokyo, Paris; Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography; and Maxxi Museum, Rome. Guez also participated in numerous international exhibitions and biennials including the 8th Berlin Biennial in 2014; 12th Istanbul Biennial, Istanbul in 2011; and the 3rd Moscow International Biennale, Moscow in 2012.
