Alistair Frost’s diverse, bright and offhand-looking paintings frequently visualize motifs related to leisure, artistic production, particular styles, lifestyles and emotions. Drawing his inspiration from mass media and everyday life, Frost’s imagery is essentially considered as symbol; where encrypted meanings play out behind the camouflage. In this way Frost using everyday subject matter employing techniques of high art.
Alistair Frost has had numerous solo exhibitions, including shows at Seventeen, London; BolteLang, Zürich; and Christian Andersen, Copenhagen. His work has been shown in several group exhibitions at venues such as Pace, London; Cell Projects, London; Kunstverein Freiburg im Marienbad, Freiburg; and Gavin Brown's Enterprise, New York.
