Gabriel Kuri

°1970, Mexico - lives and works in Los Angeles (US)

Gabriel Kuri’s oeuvre encompasses diverse media including sculpture, collage, installation and photography. A recurrent choice of everyday objects, especially materials related to consumption (e.g. receipts, plastic bags, cigarette butts, etc.), visualizes a complex vocabulary, which mostly deals with issues such as consumerism, economics, politics and temporality. In this way, Kuri integrates everyday life into his concise and formally restrained works, often laced with wry humour.
