about Alex Morrison

Alex Morrison investigates architectural styles, the historical context of their construction and the evolution of their use over time. He makes history trascendent by highlighting the connections between different era’s ideologies and the used materials and styles. His work plays with – and critiques – historical and social narratives, and the aesthetics of cultural identification affiliated to these narratives. Through his diverse practice including sculptures, drawings, paintings, and since recently digital renderings, Morrison reflects on built environments and their often counter-cultural inhabitation.

Solo exhibitions include Kölnischer Kunstverein, Cologne; Levy.Delval, Brussels; Clint Roenisch Gallery, Toronto; La Plage, Natalia Hug Gallery, Cologne; Paris; Komplot, Brussels; and Frankfurt Kunstverein, Frankfurt.
