Richard Sides

°1985, Rotherham (UK) – lives and works in London (UK)

Richard Sides uses a variety of media, including audio, performance, video and installation, to explore notions of presence, temporality, complexity and conflict. Furthermore he is interested in the relationship between people, music and technology. Sides views his installations as ‘time-based, expanded collages’, which combine media simultaneously, creating environments for others to inhabit. Sides also frequently works collaboratively with artist Haroon Mirza and curator Thom O’Nions, examining how sound inhabits exhibition spaces and interacts within other art works.

Richard Sides has had numerous solo exhibitions, including shows at Kunsthalle Winterthur; David Dale Gallery, Glasgow; and Zabludowicz Collection, London. His work has been shown in several group exhibitions at venues such as; Lisson Gallery, London; The Drawing Room, London; and V22 Collection, London.
