Evariste Richer

°1969, Montpellier (FR) – lives and works in Paris (FR)

In his work, Evariste Richer links his interest in natural sciences to concepts of space and time. He combines their appearance-forms like a chemist, who tests the reactions between elements empirically. An alchemical approach or a world seen in the light of its geological and cosmic components, characterizes his work since 12 years, associating an abstract and formal simplicity with the sublime.

Evariste Richer has had many solo exhibitions, including Palais de Tokyo, Paris; Centre d’Art Contemporain, Noisy-Le-Sec; and Transpalette, Bourges.
His work has also been shown in numerous group exhibitions at venues such as MUDAM, Luxembourg; Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; and Palais de Tokyo, Paris. Richer was nominated for the Prix Marcel Duchamp in 2014.
